The Flashbacks Show Band is a multi-dimensional band playing only the hits from the 60's through modern day.
The Flashbacks were honored to be the only band selected to play at Alabama Governor Robert Bentley's Inauguration Celebration at River Walk Stadium home of the Montgomery Biscuits Baseball team on January 17, 2011.
Recently inducted into the ALABAMA MUSIC HALL of FAME with a Musical Achievement Award. The Flashbacks are a musical entertainment group providing quality musicianship with excellent vocals and showmanship. The group's unique and versatile style covers many aspects of the musical spectrum from early Motown to today's rock and roll. The musicians in the group come together from a wide array of musical backgrounds. They have been likened to such performers as the Temptations, with dance moves and showy choreography. The fun they have with audience interaction and with each other on stage is contagious, resulting in great fun for everyone.
The Flashbacks is one of the most sought after groups in the southeast. The entertainment factor is off the scale and these guys have years of experience on the show circuit. They are a must for many occasions and events and have played all types of venues such as the Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, 30th Anniversay National Celebration of the Mustang Car Show, River Fest Celebration, Alabama Teachers Association Convention, corporate parties and events, class reunions, wedding receptions, picnics, car shows and New Years Eve Bashes!

HUNTSVILLE, AL -- They're oldies but goodies.
At least that's what voters in The Times' Readers Choice contest thought when it came time to picking the best Local Band.
Voters picked The Flashbacks -- a doo-wop group that has been performing '50s and '60s songs since 1975 -- as the top Local Band.
The original members of the group --- Gordon Franklin, Carlos Hall, Tim Lambert, Stan Leopard and Andy Coffield -- got together in Athens almost 40 years ago. They were honored earlier this year by the Alabama Music Hall of Fame for musical achievement.
Franklin, 51, is the only member of the original group still performing, but he's not ready to retire anytime soon.
"I keep thinking at some point I'll get too old to do it," Franklin said, "but when we perform and I see the crowds I get excited. It's very rewarding. I don't do golfing or fishing. This is my only hobby and I love it."
Franklin was thrilled with the Readers Choice Award, especially the response of the fans. The group was nominated by Walter McCown, brother of current lead singer Tom McCown, and was initially last in the voting. But with a few calls and e-mails, the group soared ahead of Moose to win the competition.
"We are honored and humbled by the support we received for this fun activity," Franklin said. "It's great that The Huntsville Times will sponsor activities such as The Best to recognize people of the North Alabama community both in business and entertainment.
"We had people from all over the Southeast voting for our band. One lady who is in our e-mail fan base and has moved from our area to Pensacola was encouraging her friends and family to support us in the competition."
Franklin formed the group in 1975 in study hall at Athens Bible School with buddies Hall and Lambert. They added Leopard and Coffield to form a group that performed oldies with choreographed routines just like their idols, The Temptations.
Current members include Russ Griffin, Tom McCown, Mike Falkner, Rudy Mockabee, Taylor Cheatwood and John Senchuk. And for the first time since the band was formed, The Flashbacks have added a female singer, Kristen Lee, to the group.
"Kristen Lee is a talented versatile singer whose vocal style reminds you of great singers like Christina Aguilera, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Anita Baker," Franklin said.
The Flashbacks are putting on a benefit concert at the Princess Theatre in Decatur on Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be in association with Florida Christian College and proceeds from the event will be given to the scholarship program established by the FCC North Alabama Alumni Booster Club.
Tickets are available only through The Flashbacks and not through the Princess Theatre box office. Tickets are $20 advance, $25 at the door. Call 256-775-7827 for more information.
