Alton Guy Higginbotham (1954-2006) AL
Alton Guy Higginbotham, 52, professional musician, of Sheffield, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Parkway Funeral Home, with O.D. Bowling officiating. Burial was in Colbert Memorial Cemetery.
He was born May 8, 1954, in Madison County, to Joan Carmichael and the late Fred Higginbotham.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Higginbotham, of Carbon Hill; mother, Joan Carmichael, of Sheffield; sister, Carole H. Pigg, of Tuscumbia; nephews, Chris Newton, of Clanton, and Craig Newton, of Mobile; great-niece, Sara Grace Newton, of Clanton.
He was a God-gifted, outstanding musician who had the biggest heart ever. He was well-known throughout the world for his talent and passionate ability to make Bulah, his tenor saxophone, sing their song. He could play flute and guitar as well as many songs published in his publishing company. Guy cherished his family and friends and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it.
