QUINTESSENCE
Occasionally a group of musicians are so well fitted to each other that the music comes effortlessly and their enjoyment in the creation of that music is transferred to the audience. This defines Quintessence. Ike Johnson, saxophonist, is a Mobile native and his smooth style and sound lend the band an identity all its own. The rhythm section consists of Sean Worrell (piano), Corey Johnson (upright & electric bass), and Steven Jacobs (percussion). The band has been together for close to five years becoming tighter and more creative along the way. Having crossed paths on numerous gigs in the past two years, Ike, Sean, Corey, and Steven decided to put something special together. The product is a group of seasoned musicians dedicated to the creation of true jazz and satisfying fans of good music everywhere they go. The focus is always on the quality of the music and pleasing the audience on hand. This group has the ability to play in any venue and allows the venue to dictate the tone of the performance. From whisper quiet to energetic songs for the dancers in the audience and everything in between, this band always plays to the room. A special song or two can also be prepared if the occasion requires. Let Quintessence add good music, a good time, and a touch of class to your event.
